FAQ
Questions, answered.
The short version, grouped by product.
General
What is Forte?
Forte makes software that works inside your creative apps on the Mac, for audio and video. Braus gives you workers for Pro Tools and your other apps. fMusic and fPost are the Pro Tools specialists: mix prep and stems, and AAF turnovers. fMusic for Logic Pro and the free AAF Checker complete the family.
Which Forte product do I need, fPost or fMusic?
Choose fPost if you work in audio post and receive AAF turnovers to prep in Pro Tools. Choose fMusic if you deliver music and need to print stems and exports in Pro Tools or Logic Pro. The free AAF Checker validates any AAF before import, whichever you use. Engineers who do both often use fPost and fMusic together.
Which DAWs does Forte support?
Forte supports Pro Tools and Logic Pro. fPost works with Pro Tools 2024.3 or later. fMusic Studio and Suite work with Pro Tools 2024.3 or later; fMusic for Logic Pro covers Logic Pro 11.1 or later. The free AAF Checker needs no DAW at all and checks any AAF on macOS.
Does my audio leave my Mac?
Not with fMusic and fPost: everything runs on your Mac through Forte’s on-device AI-R recognition engine. Nothing is uploaded, which keeps embargoed film, TV and client material private. The apps connect to the internet to verify your license; the Suite plans can also run fully offline, air-gapped rooms included.
With Braus, do my files stay on my Mac?
Braus works with your files where they are, on your Mac. It reads each window as text on the Mac, and screen images stay there, with app knowledge and conversations. The model the worker uses receives that text and your request: a free or Forte-provided model, or your own Claude or ChatGPT if you connect it.
Is there a free way to start with Forte?
Yes. AAF Checker is a free macOS app that checks any AAF before you import it, flagging missing or unreadable media, timecode and sample-rate problems, and corrupt files. It needs no account and nothing is uploaded. fPost and fMusic also offer a 7-day free trial with no credit card.
How do I buy or try Forte?
Start a 7-day free trial of fPost or fMusic with no credit card, or download AAF Checker free. After the trial you add a card only if you decide to buy. Pricing is on the pricing page: monthly, yearly or a one-time Lifetime license, plus an fPost Enterprise tier for facilities.
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. The Forte free trial requires no credit card. It runs 7 days, starts at your first in-product sign-in, and expires on its own with no auto-charge, so there is nothing to cancel. You add a card later only when you decide to buy. The same applies to fPost and fMusic.
Who is behind Forte?
Forte is built by Forte Audio S.r.l., founded in Turin, Italy, in May 2024. The team builds Mac automation tools for professional audio engineers and studios in post-production and music. Prices are in EUR, VAT included.
Braus
What is Braus?
Braus gives you workers for the apps on your Mac. Give a worker a job in plain words. It works inside your app, in the background, while you keep working.
What is a worker?
A Braus worker has a name, a role and a job. Brief it in plain words. It works in your app in the background, checks each step and reports back. Run several at once, each in its own app, and stop any of them whenever you want.
How much does it cost?
You can start free, with Braus Flash and free models, and one worker at a time, for as long as you like. Paid plans add scale: workers in parallel, more usage and teams. You never pay per action.
Which model do I need?
None to start: Braus comes with its own models, Braus Flash and Braus Pro, on every plan (Braus Flash on Free). You can still connect Claude or ChatGPT in the Braus app, or drive Braus from your agent over MCP: Claude Code or Codex.
Do I need a Forte account?
Yes, sign in to Braus with your Forte account. Existing Forte users already have access. If you’re new to Forte, create a free account on this website or inside the Braus app.
Which apps does Braus work in?
Desktop apps on your Mac, even ones without an API. Our focus is Pro Tools, Logic Pro and Ableton Live for audio, and Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro for video. What works depends on the app and the task.
What can Braus do in Pro Tools?
Braus reads your Pro Tools session, creates and renames tracks, and changes mute, solo, and record-arm states. It also selects tracks and timeline ranges, imports audio files as new tracks, and opens, saves, and closes sessions. Braus works in the Mix and Edit windows.
Can I keep working while Braus works?
Yes, Braus works in Pro Tools in the background while you keep using your Mac. Your mouse and keyboard stay yours, and Pro Tools does not jump to the front.
What leaves my Mac?
Braus turns app windows into text on your Mac, then sends that text and your request to the model the worker uses. Screen images stay on your Mac. App knowledge and conversations are stored on your Mac. Braus models run only on providers with zero data retention: they don’t keep what you send, so it can’t be used to train models. If you connect your own subscription or API key, that provider’s terms apply.
Which Macs does Braus run on?
Braus requires macOS 15 or later. It cannot be installed on older macOS versions yet. These requirements apply to Braus and differ from those of other Forte apps.
Does Braus check changes and recover from errors?
Braus reads the Pro Tools session after each change and tells you when it could not check the result. If a series of track changes fails halfway, Braus puts the tracks back. It removes tracks it created and restores the previous names, mute, solo, and record-arm states.
Can I stop Braus, and does stopping undo changes?
You can stop Braus at any time from the Braus app. Stopping Braus does not undo changes it has already made in Pro Tools.
Is Braus open source?
Its open source edition is: the app, the engine and the background driver are on GitHub under Apache 2.0. The Braus app you download from Forte works with a Forte sign-in.
Braus, or fMusic and fPost?
Both. fMusic and fPost each do one Pro Tools job, the same way every time: mix prep and stems, or AAF turnovers. Braus workers take the jobs around them, in Pro Tools and your other apps. They share one Forte account, each with its own plan.
fMusic
What does fMusic do and how does it work?
fMusic automates Pro Tools prep and delivery. Import categorizes, names and routes audio to your template. Suite’s Organize reorganizes any existing PTX in place: renamed, recolored, rerouted and reordered. Export prints stems and deliverables through Pro Tools’ own bounce engine. Every run uses a queue, including overnight batches. fMusic for Logic Pro is a separate one-time purchase.
Does fMusic work with both Pro Tools and Logic Pro?
Yes, through two products. fMusic Studio and Suite automate stem export and mix prep in Pro Tools 2024.3 or later, through its native scripting layer, PTSL. Pro Tools must run with its interface in English. fMusic for Logic Pro is a separate one-time purchase for Logic Pro 11.1 or later: routing, naming, background bounces and batch export queues.
Can fMusic reorganize a Pro Tools session I already have?
Yes, with the Organize module on fMusic Suite. It opens any existing PTX, reads it track by track, recognizes what each track contains, and reorganizes it in place to your settings: renamed, recolored, re-routed and reordered, with stereo .L/.R pairs merged and removed tracks deleted. A PTX that arrives from another studio lands organized like your own work.
Can fMusic run my exports unattended?
Yes, unattended. fMusic drives Pro Tools’ own bounce engine through the whole batch, print after print and format after format, so you queue the exports and step away instead of clicking through one blocking bounce at a time. It prints each file to your routing, naming and width automatically.
Can fMusic batch-export multiple sessions unattended, overnight?
Yes. fMusic queues multiple sessions and processes them unattended, opening and closing each one with no manual restarts or dialogs to babysit, so you can leave a batch running overnight. On Suite, imports, organizes and exports share one queue, so a mixed batch runs in one pass.
Can I create a print without leaving Pro Tools?
Yes. fMusic registers global print shortcuts that work while Pro Tools is in front: one keystroke turns the tracks selected in Pro Tools into a print, soloed, muted or as one file per track, with the current timeline selection as its range. The print is waiting, already selected, the next time you open Export. You set the keys in Settings.
Can fMusic preview a print before bouncing it?
Yes, on fMusic Suite. Every print can be previewed and auditioned before it runs, so a wrong mix source or a muted track costs you a two-second check instead of a re-render of the whole batch.
Can fMusic export stems from buses, outputs or folder tracks?
Yes for buses, outputs and routing folders. Stem categories on fMusic Studio are built from a routing source, a bus or an output. Suite adds Folder mode: a category names one or more routing folders, soloed together and captured from the main output, so categories match sessions built on folders rather than buses. Any print can also solo a hand-picked set of tracks.
Does fMusic preserve mono and stereo width?
Yes. Every print declares its delivery width, mono or stereo, as one file or one file per track, so mono stays mono and stereo stays stereo, and you do not collapse width or pad mono files to dual-mono by hand. Width is set per print, once.
Does fMusic detect mono files delivered as stereo?
Yes. On import fMusic classifies the actual content of every stereo file as fake stereo (identical channels), hard-panned or true stereo, and folds it to mono by your per-case rules. Files delivered as separate .L and .R pairs are merged automatically, and every verdict stays visible so you can see what was decided and why.
Which file formats, bit depths and sample rates can fMusic export?
fMusic exports WAV and AIFF at 16, 24 or 32-bit, and MP3 at 128, 256 or 320 kbps. Sample rates range from 44.1 kHz up to 192 kHz (44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192). You choose the format and quality per delivery.
Will fMusic keep my reverb and delay tails on export?
fMusic uses Pro Tools’ own bounce functions and does not add or cut tails arbitrarily, so you configure your exports as usual. Each print carries its own range, set by timecode or bars and beats, or between two markers on Suite, so you can end the render after the last clip and tails print exactly as intended.
Can fMusic name and organize files to match my own convention?
Yes. On export, print names, base filename, suffix and casing follow your convention, into the destination folder you choose. On import, tracks are named from what they contain, in the casing style you set, and clips can take their track’s name. Batch exports come out correctly named and organized.
Does fMusic support surround or Dolby Atmos?
Not currently. fMusic exports mono and stereo deliverables; immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos and ADM BWF are not supported today. If you need immersive delivery, tell us with a feature request and we will weigh it for the roadmap.
Does fMusic apply loudness normalization or LUFS targets?
Not on export: fMusic prints your mix exactly as you set it and never targets streaming LUFS levels such as -14 LUFS, so your loudness decisions stay in your hands. On import, fMusic Suite includes audio normalization: an automatic level pass to the target level in dBFS you set once in Settings, measured by true peak or by RMS.
Does fMusic upload my audio, and how many machines can I use?
fMusic’s recognition and processing run entirely on your Mac, so your audio is never uploaded. Studio needs an internet connection while you work; Suite can also run fully offline, air-gapped rooms included. Every plan, Studio or Suite, subscription or Lifetime, includes 2 seats: two machines, such as a studio rig and a laptop.
Can I buy fMusic once instead of subscribing?
Yes. fMusic Lifetime is a one-time payment: EUR 499 for Studio or EUR 699 for Suite, with 2 seats and every update to your tier included, no subscription and no renewals. Pick the tier on the Lifetime card, here or in your user area. The 7-day free trial is the same, no credit card.
What are fMusic’s system requirements, and is there a free trial?
fMusic Studio and Suite require Pro Tools 2024.3 or later on macOS 13.5 or later, with a single installer for Apple Silicon and Intel; they drive Pro Tools through PTSL, with Pro Tools’ interface in English, and macOS asks once for the Accessibility permission at first launch. fMusic for Logic Pro runs on Logic Pro 11.1 or later on macOS 11 or later. Both offer a 7-day free trial with no credit card that starts at first sign-in and expires on its own.
fPost
Can fPost automate Pro Tools session prep and template matching?
Yes. fPost automates Pro Tools session prep end to end: its on-device AI-R engine detects the content of each clip, matches your own Pro Tools session template, and returns a session that is named and organized, ready to mix. It works from an AAF or an existing PTX session.
Which video editors can the source AAF come from?
fPost supports AAF files exported from Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Final Cut Pro does not export AAF directly, so it is not supported natively, but a short guide shows how to convert a Final Cut export into an AAF for use with fPost.
What survives an AAF import into Pro Tools with fPost?
Everything that Pro Tools can carry in an AAF survives: fades and crossfades, automation, clip names, and supported plugins and effects are all preserved. Track folder grouping does not come across, because the AAF format does not support it. fPost preserves what is there and never alters the original files.
Will fPost change or damage my original AAF and media?
No. fPost never writes to your original AAF or media. It extracts the AAF and media information temporarily into a local folder purely to analyze it, then builds a new Pro Tools session, so your handoff files stay untouched and you can re-run an import safely.
How does fPost handle a sample-rate or frame-rate mismatch?
fPost converts the sample rate so your audio plays back at the correct pitch and speed in your session. Video frame rates are kept as they are, not changed. Matching your session to the source still avoids surprises, but a sample-rate mismatch will not silently push your audio out of sync.
What does fPost classify in Studio and Suite?
fPost Studio classifies clips into the macro categories dialogue, music and sound effects and lands them in your template. Suite adds deeper recognition down to micro categories such as sync dialogue, instrumental music and foley, plus multi-AAF import, splitting one AAF across sessions and per-clip metadata. Suite launched in July 2026.
How does fPost place clips if my source track names are inconsistent?
fPost places clips using on-device content recognition, not brittle track-name matching. The AI-R engine classifies each clip by what it actually contains and lands it in the correct folder and name within your template, so missing or inconsistent names from the editor do not break the prep.
What is the difference between fPost Studio, Suite and Enterprise?
Studio covers AAF import, session reorganization, template matching, naming, macro-category recognition and standard support. Suite adds micro-category recognition, multi-AAF import, split-across-sessions, per-clip metadata, 24-hour priority support and fully offline use. Both are one seat and sold monthly, yearly or as a Lifetime license: Studio EUR 49/month, EUR 288/year or EUR 1,199 once; Suite EUR 59/month, EUR 348/year or EUR 1,399 once. Enterprise adds floating licenses, a license server, an SLA and volume pricing.
I already have an fPost plan. Does anything change for me?
No. Your plan, its price and your renewal date stay exactly as they are. You can see them, and download fPost, in your user area.
Does fPost work offline, and is my audio private?
Your audio stays private on every plan: fPost processes everything on-device through the AI-R engine, so nothing is uploaded. Working fully offline, air-gapped rooms included, is part of fPost Suite and Suite Lifetime; Studio connects to the internet to verify your license. This suits facilities handling embargoed film and TV under NDA.
What are the system requirements for fPost?
fPost requires Pro Tools 2024.3 or later and macOS 13.5 or later. There is a single installer that runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, so you do not need to pick a build. fPost Suite also works fully offline.
Is there a free way to try fPost, and do I need a credit card?
Yes. fPost has a 7-day free trial with no credit card. It starts at your first in-product sign-in and expires on its own with no auto-charge; add a card later only to buy. Before importing, the free AAF Checker lets you confirm an AAF will import cleanly at no cost.
Extensions
What is a Pro Tools Extension?
A Pro Tools Extension is a third-party tool that runs inside Pro Tools, opened from the Extensions panel as a full window or a narrow side tab, instead of as a separate application. Pro Tools 2026.11 introduces Extensions, and fMusic and fPost are two of them, each its own Extension.
Do I need a separate license for the Extension?
No. Each Extension is the same product as its desktop app: a paid fMusic plan includes the fMusic Extension, a paid fPost plan includes the fPost Extension, and a plan bought from an Extension unlocks the desktop app too. Same account, same Studio, Suite and Lifetime plans, at the same prices as on the pricing page.
Where do I find fMusic and fPost in Pro Tools?
In Pro Tools 2026.11, open the Extensions panel or pick Extensions from the menu bar: fMusic Extension and fPost Extension are listed there. Pro Tools sends you to Avid’s Extensions page to download the installer; the same installers are on the Forte download page.
What is free in the Extensions?
The first run starts a free 7-day trial with every feature and unlimited capacity, no account needed. The Visualizer is always free. After the trial you keep 2 imports or organizes a month on each Extension and 2 exports a month on fMusic. Limits sit on the final step, never on tracks or clips. AAF Checker stays free.
Does the Extension replace the desktop app?
No. The Extension brings the same workflows into Pro Tools, so the session stays in front of you and you never switch apps. The desktop apps stay available with the same plan, for the rooms that prefer them.
Does my audio leave my Mac when I use the Extension?
No. The Extension runs the same on-device engine as the app: recognition and classification happen on your Mac, and nothing is uploaded. That is what makes it usable on material under NDA.
Which Pro Tools and macOS versions do the Extensions need?
The Extensions need Pro Tools 2026.11 or later and macOS 13.5 or later, for fMusic and fPost alike.
fMusic for Logic Pro
What does fMusic for Logic Pro do and how does it work?
fMusic for Logic Pro automates stem and deliverable export exclusively in Logic Pro. You point it at your audio files; it imports them into an open session (your template, a new session, or any session you have open) and prints your deliverables using Logic Pro’s own bounce engine, with routing, naming and channel width matched to your setup.
What does fMusic for Logic Pro include, and how much does it cost?
The complete fMusic workflow for Logic Pro: import and mix prep to your template, routing and naming, stem export through Logic Pro’s own bounce engine, background bounces and multi-session batch. It is a one-time purchase of EUR 249 with 2 seats, yours forever, no subscription.
Can fMusic for Logic Pro bounce while I keep working?
Yes. fMusic for Logic Pro runs the export in the background using Logic Pro’s bounce functions, so you are not stuck waiting on a blocking bounce. It prints each file to your routing, naming and width automatically.
Can it batch-export multiple sessions unattended, overnight?
Yes. fMusic for Logic Pro queues multiple sessions and processes them unattended, opening and closing each one with no manual restarts or dialogs to babysit, so you can leave a batch running overnight.
Does fMusic for Logic Pro preserve mono and stereo width?
Yes. It exports each file at the channel width set in your session, so mono stays mono and stereo stays stereo, and you do not collapse width or pad mono files to dual-mono by hand. Width follows your setup.
Which file formats, bit depths and sample rates can it export?
fMusic for Logic Pro exports WAV and AIFF at 16, 24 or 32-bit, and MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps. Sample rates range from 44.1 kHz up to 192 kHz (44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192). You choose the format and quality per delivery.
Will it keep my reverb and delay tails on export?
fMusic for Logic Pro uses Logic Pro’s own bounce functions and does not add or cut tails arbitrarily, so you configure your exports as usual and tails print exactly as you set them.
Can it name and organize files to match my own convention?
Yes. fMusic for Logic Pro follows the naming convention you already use rather than imposing a fixed scheme, so batch exports come out correctly named and organized.
Does fMusic for Logic Pro support surround or Dolby Atmos?
Not currently. fMusic for Logic Pro exports mono and stereo deliverables; immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos and ADM BWF are not supported.
Does it apply loudness normalization or LUFS targets?
No. fMusic for Logic Pro does not apply loudness normalization or target streaming LUFS levels such as -14 LUFS. It prints your mix exactly as you set it, automating the routing, naming, width and bounce, so your loudness decisions stay in your hands.
Does it upload my audio, and how many machines does a license cover?
fMusic for Logic Pro runs entirely on your Mac, so nothing is uploaded, and it only contacts the internet at sign-in to verify your license. One license covers 2 seats, so you can run it on two machines such as a studio rig and a laptop.
What are the system requirements, and is there a free trial?
fMusic for Logic Pro runs on Logic Pro 11.1 or later on macOS 11 or later, with a single installer for Apple Silicon and Intel. It offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card that starts at your first sign-in and expires on its own.
What is the difference between fMusic for Logic Pro and fMusic Studio?
fMusic Studio and Suite are the fMusic products for Pro Tools, sold in two tiers as a subscription or as a Lifetime license. fMusic for Logic Pro covers the fMusic workflow in Logic Pro as a single one-time purchase. They are separate products with separate licenses; the fMusic page covers the Pro Tools side.
AAF Checker
What is an AAF file?
An AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) file is an interchange container used to hand a project from a video editor to an audio workstation. It carries the timeline structure, audio clips and metadata, with references to the underlying media. Before importing one into Pro Tools, the free AAF Checker tells you whether it will import cleanly.
What is AAF Checker and what does it do?
AAF Checker is a free macOS app that checks an AAF before you import it. It validates the state of the file, including whether the media is properly linked and readable and whether the timecode, session start, sample rate and frame rate are configured correctly, so you know in advance whether the AAF will import without problems.
What problems does AAF Checker flag?
AAF Checker sorts issues into warnings and failures. Warnings are cases where the import will work but a professional should review them, such as a misconfigured timecode, session start time, sample rate or frame rate. A failure means the import will not work, because audio media linked to the AAF is missing or unreadable.
Does AAF Checker show the tracks, clips and fades inside the AAF?
No. AAF Checker is a pre-import quality check, not a clip-level content viewer. It reports on the integrity and configuration of the AAF, such as media links, timecode, sample rate and frame rate, rather than the contents of each track. To turn an AAF into a ready-to-mix Pro Tools session, that is fPost.
Why does my AAF import with missing or offline media in Pro Tools?
An AAF imports with missing or offline media when Pro Tools cannot locate the linked files, or when the media is unreadable. Run the AAF through AAF Checker first: it flags missing or unlinked media before you import, so you fix relink problems up front instead of discovering them mid-session.
Is AAF Checker really free, and do I need an account?
Yes. AAF Checker is free forever and needs no account; you only need an internet connection to download it. It runs on macOS and checks any AAF locally on your Mac, with nothing uploaded.
Does AAF Checker upload my file?
No. AAF Checker reads your AAF locally on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for material under NDA or embargo where sending a file to an online service is not an option.
What does AAF Checker not do?
AAF Checker checks whether an AAF will import cleanly. It does not show clip-level contents, and it does not convert, repair or import the file. For automated import into a named, template-matched Pro Tools session, that is fPost, the paid step.
What is the difference between AAF Checker and fPost?
AAF Checker tells you, for free, whether an AAF will import cleanly and what to fix first. fPost goes further and automatically builds a mix-ready Pro Tools session from the AAF, named and matched to your template. fPost will also fold AAF Checker’s import-readiness reports in directly in an upcoming release.
Pricing & billing
Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No. The Forte 7-day free trial requires no credit card. It starts at your first in-product sign-in, expires on its own, and never auto-charges. You add a card later only when you decide to buy. This applies to both fPost and fMusic.
What happens when the 7-day trial ends?
It expires on its own. Because no card is taken to start it, there is no auto-renewal, no auto-charge and nothing to cancel. When the trial ends you simply add a payment card if you choose to buy; on fMusic you keep Intro, the free tier capped at 8 tracks per import and 1 custom and 1 favorite print.
Is there anything free?
Yes, two things. AAF Checker is free forever: a native macOS app that checks any AAF for import problems before you import it, with no account and nothing uploaded. And fMusic includes Intro, a free tier capped at 8 tracks per import and 1 custom and 1 favorite print: when the 7-day full-Suite trial ends, you keep Intro at no cost. fPost adds a 7-day free trial with no credit card too.
How many computers or seats does one license cover?
It depends on the product: every fPost plan, Studio or Suite, on subscription or Lifetime, includes 1 seat; fMusic Studio and Suite both include 2 seats, on subscription or Lifetime. For facility-wide coverage, fPost Enterprise uses floating licenses managed by a license server (LLS).
Can I move my license to a new Mac?
Licenses are not transferred self-service today. If you change machine, email support@forte-ai.com and the team will sort it out for you. The app verifies your active license at sign-in, so you do need an internet connection when you first sign in on a new Mac.
How does fPost pricing work across Studio, Suite and Enterprise?
fPost Studio is EUR 288/year (EUR 24/month billed annually) or EUR 49 month to month, and covers AAF import, session prep and macro-category recognition with standard support. fPost Suite is EUR 348/year (EUR 29/month) or EUR 59 month to month, and adds micro-category recognition, multi-AAF import, per-clip metadata, 24-hour priority support and offline use. Both are 1 seat, and annual billing works out to half the cost of paying monthly. Either tier is also sold as a Lifetime license, paid once: EUR 1,199 for Studio, EUR 1,399 for Suite. Enterprise adds floating licenses, a license server, an SLA and volume pricing.
Is fPost Suite available yet?
Yes. fPost Suite launched with the July 2026 update: deeper micro-category recognition, importing multiple AAFs into one session, splitting one AAF across sessions, per-clip metadata and 24-hour priority support.
Can I buy fPost once instead of subscribing?
Yes. fPost Lifetime is a one-time payment: EUR 1,199 for Studio or EUR 1,399 for Suite, with 1 seat and every update to your tier included, no subscription and no renewals. Choose Studio or Suite on the Lifetime card on the pricing page, or in your user area. A future, separate product would not be included, as it would be a new product rather than an update.
Can I change my fPost plan, or move from a subscription to Lifetime?
Yes, through support@forte-ai.com for now: moving from Studio to Suite, or from monthly to yearly, is set up by the team and you pay the difference. Subscription payments do not count toward a Lifetime license: to switch, you buy Lifetime at its full price and the subscription is cancelled so it does not renew.
How much does fMusic cost, and what separates Studio and Suite?
fMusic Studio is EUR 108/year (EUR 9/month billed annually) or EUR 18 month to month. fMusic Suite is EUR 132/year (EUR 11/month) or EUR 22 month to month, and adds the professional modules such as Organize and print preview. Both include 2 seats, and annual billing works out to half the cost of paying monthly. Either tier is also sold as a Lifetime license, paid once: EUR 499 for Studio, EUR 699 for Suite. fMusic for Logic Pro is a separate one-time purchase at EUR 249.
Does the fMusic Lifetime license include future updates?
Yes. The Lifetime license is a one-time payment, EUR 499 for Studio or EUR 699 for Suite, and includes every update to the tier you bought, with 2 seats. A future, separate product would not be included, as it would be a new product rather than an update.
Can I move from an fMusic subscription to the Lifetime license?
You can switch to the Lifetime license at any time, but there is no upgrade pricing: monthly and yearly payments do not accumulate as credit toward Lifetime, and there are no discounted upgrade offers, because the subscription and the Lifetime license are two separate offers. To switch, you buy the Lifetime license at its full price and cancel your subscription so it does not renew.
Can I upgrade from fMusic Studio to Suite?
Yes, any time. You switch from the user area and pay the difference; your seats and setup carry over as they are. Suite adds the professional modules on top of everything Studio does.
Can I switch or upgrade my plan later?
Yes. On fMusic, single users can change plan self-service in the user area; on fPost, plan changes go through support@forte-ai.com for now. Teams and facilities can arrange it through sales@forte-ai.com. Upgrading fMusic Studio to Suite is prorated, and so are fPost moves from Studio to Suite or from monthly to yearly; moving from a subscription to Lifetime starts fresh, with no credit for what you have already paid.
Do you offer educational pricing?
Yes. Forte offers 40% off for students and educators, with proof of enrollment in a relevant audio course or of teaching one; on fPost the discount applies to subscriptions, not to Lifetime. Contact Forte before purchasing to verify eligibility. The free 7-day trial, with no credit card, is open to everyone in the meantime.
What payment methods do you accept, and is VAT included?
Prices are in EUR and include VAT. Payments run through Stripe, so you can pay by credit or debit card, PayPal, bank transfer and the other methods Stripe supports. Enterprise facilities can arrange purchasing through sales@forte-ai.com.
What support response time do I get on each plan?
Standard support, included with fPost Studio and all fMusic plans, targets a response within 48 hours. fPost Suite includes priority support with a 24-hour target, and fPost Enterprise includes a contractual SLA. You can reach the team any time at support@forte-ai.com.
Existing fMusic customers
What happens to my fMusic subscription?
Your subscription moves to fMusic Studio automatically, at the same price you pay today. There is nothing to do: your renewal date, payment method and 2 seats stay exactly as they are, and you get every Studio update from launch day.
I have an fMusic lifetime license. What do I get?
fMusic Studio for life, free. Your license moves to Studio automatically with all your features updated, and every Studio update stays included at no cost. Options for Suite are shown in your user area.
I bought fMusic pay once. What happens?
Your pay-once license includes a year of updates from the day you bought it. While that year runs, you get fMusic Studio with its updates, plus fMusic for Logic Pro if your license covered both Pro Tools and Logic Pro; any upgrade options are shown in your user area. After the year, the version you bought keeps working and the new fMusic is a new purchase. A pay-once license for Logic Pro only moves to fMusic for Logic Pro, also as a new purchase. If what you own is the fMusic Lifetime license, the lifetime answer applies instead: you get Studio for life.
I use Logic Pro. Which fMusic is for me?
fMusic for Logic Pro is the product for Logic: the full fMusic workflow, sold as a one-time purchase, yours forever. The fMusic for Logic Pro page has the details and the free trial.
I am on rent-to-own. What happens to my installments?
You move to fMusic Studio automatically and your installments continue unchanged, same amount and same schedule. Completing them unlocks Studio for life, as before. Any upgrade options are shown in your user area.
What is the difference between fMusic Studio and Suite?
Studio is the complete fMusic workflow: import and mix prep, stem and deliverable export, unattended bounces and batch queues, with 2 seats. Suite adds the professional modules: the Organize module to reorganize any PTX, match template and track preset modes, audio normalization, custom mix source, markers and formats per print, stem categories from routing folders, a mixed queue, print preview with audition, and full offline use for air-gapped rooms. The fMusic page has the full comparison.
Can I switch from monthly to annual billing?
Yes, any time from the user area: open your plan and choose annual. The switch is prorated and takes effect immediately, and annual billing works out to half the cost of paying monthly.
